Sudoku Junior uses a 36 grid (6 x 6) board instead of the classical 81 grid matrix.
The board game book features Sudoku Puzzles wherein certain grids in the matrix are already filled in. The child fills the corresponding grids on the board with the appropriate tokens.
By doing so the child gets to learns spatial awareness concepts. The child has to fill the remaining grids with the balance tokens so that each letter token appears only once in each box (there are six boxes in all) and only once in each row and column.
There are 36 Sudoku junior examples (arranged serially from simple to complex) with their solutions in the board game book. The empty slots are filled using logic and not guesswork. Thereafter deeper logical analysis is needed for considering multiple possibilities.
